Diaby a doubt for World Cup play-off

Abou Diaby limped off in the first half of Arsenal's 4-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, making the versatile player a big doubt for France in the World Cup play-off with the Republic of Ireland.

Diaby was unlikely to be involved in the starting line-up for Raymond Domenech's charges but it could be yet another option taken away from the French ahead of the tie next weekend.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: 'We don't know what it is yet. It looks like a calf strain.'

Gael Clichy and Franck Ribery are already unavailable for France because of injury.
