listen

Watch Cyprus v Republic of Ireland live here on RTÉ.ie (RoI only) from 7pm on Saturday, 5 September. Live commentary available worldwide on RTÉ Radio 1. A post-match Web-Only Special will be hosted live after the game.

The Republic of Ireland squad has arrived in Cyprus ahead of their World Cup qualifier, but a mix-up over seating on the flight over has overshadowed proceedings.

A number of players were forced to sit in economy class because only 22 business class seats were available.

Some of those were allocated to the management team.

However, it has emerged that coaches Liam Brady and Alan Kelly gave up their seats during the flight.

The players were reportedly unimpressed by the events, while the FAI are playing down the incident.
