Bray Wanderers 2-0 Tralee Dynamos

Two first half goals eased Bray Wanderers into the last eight of the FAI Ford Cup for the second time as many seasons as they beat non-league Tralee Dynamos at the Carlisle Grounds.

The victory was the Green and White's first success at home since June when they knocked Bluebell United out of the competition in the previous round.

After a quiet start in which the only chances were tame long range efforts by Wanderers' Daire Doyle and Dane Massey, the Wicklow side broke the deadlock in the 31st minute.

Gary McCabe rolled a free on the left wing inside to fellow Irish
Futsal international Dane Massey.

Having mis-controlled, he side-stepped a challenge to hit a powerful 22-yard drive that Wayne Guthrie could only parry, and John Flood pounced on the redound with a close range finish.

That lead was doubled by the Premier Division outfit right on the
stroke of half time.

In the dying seconds of the one minute of stoppage time, Flood was fouled on the edge of the box by Brian Fitzgerald following Doyle's free.

And Dave Webster claimed his first senior goal when his well struck drive took a slight deflection off the wall and flew past Guthrie's despairing dive.

Having played the first half with a defensive 4-5-1 formation, and
failed to have a shot on target, Tralee went with a 4-4-2 shape for the second period.

And they created their first opening off their first corner just after the hour mark.

From Peter McCarthy's flag-kick, Fitzgerald sent a looping header
wide at the back post.

With Bray boss Eddie Gormley having used all three substitutes by the midway point of the second half, the hosts twice went close to adding a third.

First Guthrie used his legs to thwart sub Jake Kelly and then made a fine parried stop to deny McCabe.
