Red Bull Salzburg 1-1 Bohemians

Bohemians have given themselves a great chance of progressing to the third qualifying round of the Champions League after securing a draw and a valuable away goal against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

The Gypsies were hoping to make sure they had something to play for in the second leg at Dalymount Park and things didn't look good for Pat Fenlon's men as they went behind after 25 minutes.

An outswinging corner to the back post was met by the unmarked Milan Dudic who powered his header home, giving keeper Brian Murphy no chance.

And Bohs could have gone into the break two down if it wasn't for Murphy who kept his side in the game going into the second half.

Salzburg again put pressure on the Gypsies and the home side were awarded a soft penalty in the 58th minute, but once again, Murphy kept his side in the tie with a marvellous save down to his left from Marc Janko's effort.

And then Bohs hit back with a rare foray into the Salzburg half after Jason Byrne got on the end of a cross to knock the ball back across goal to give Joseph Ndo the easiest of finishes.

Salzburg had plenty more chances to win the tie but were denied by a combination of the woodwork and keeper Murphy as Bohs held on.
