Sporting Fingal 2-0 Athlone Town

Sporting Fingal closed in on the top three when they battled past
Athlone Town at Morton Stadium, courtesy of two late goals.

With back-to-back league games next against second-placed Waterford United and table-toppers UCD, Liam Buckley's Fingal side will be in buoyant form after shortening the gap at the top to just four points.

Alan Kirby's low cross on 71 minutes was turned into his own net by Robbie Benson, before Conan Byrne raced clear two minutes later to seal victory with the second goal.
