Murray signs for Waterford United

Blues manager Stephen Henderson today made Kevin Murray his third signing since taking the reigns at the RSC in December.

The very highly regarded centre-half was the backbone of the Cobh Ramblers team for the last few years, and is a hugely significant addition to the Blues' squad.

Since joining Ramblers from Cork City in 2006, he has established himself as one of the most solid defenders around and starred in Cobh's promotion season of 2007, including scoring the goal that won them the First Division title away to Athlone Town.

Last season he started 30 matches in the Premier Division and scored 4 times.

He has signed a one year deal, joining former Cobh teammates Graham Cummins and John Kearney at the RSC for 2009.

Waterford United's Sam White said: 'We're absolutely delighted with the signing.

'It's great to see such a quality player added to the squad, which is really beginning to take shape now for the coming season.

'With more additions to be made in the near future, it's an exciting time for all associated with the club.'
