Mooney to join Stockport on loan

Reading striker Dave Mooney will join Jim Gannon's Stockport County on a month-long loan deal.

The former Cork City man has only made two appearance since joining The Royals, both as a substitute in League Cup games, and will relish the opportunity to join the side who are just outside the play-off positions in England's League One.

Mooney was not in the Reading squad that lost to Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Saturday and may make his debut for the Edgeley Park side against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday.
