Irish women drawn against Iceland

The Republic of Ireland Women's team have been drawn against Iceland in the Euro 2009 play-offs.

The draw took place in Switzerland this afternoon with Noel King's side also having home advantage for the first tie, which will take place on 25 October at Tolka Park.

The second leg will take place on 30 October.

The five play-off winners joining hosts Finland and the group winners in an expanded 12-team draw for the finals, which take place next summer.

Ireland reached this stage after finishing third in their group behind Italy and Sweden and made the draw as one of the best third place finishers.

Iceland finished second in Group Three behind France.

Czech Republic v Italy
Scotland v Russia
Slovenia v Ukraine
Spain v Netherlands
