Fresh injury setback for Reid

Steven Reid is the latest player to join Blackburn Rovers' injury list ahead of tomorrow night's Carling Cup third-round tie with Everton at Ewood Park.

Reid pulled out of Saturday's 1-0 Barclays Premier League victory over Fulham with a knee problem, and will now be out for another fortnight.

Reid had only just returned to the Ireland set-up in the friendly against Norway in August after a nightmare period with injury.

He went on to play a crucial role in the opening two World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Montenegro.

In January 2007, he picked up a cruciate knee ligament injury in training at Blackburn. That injury came just as he was returning from a serious back injury picked up in the previous September.

Reid joins David Dunn (Achilles), Vince Grella (calf), Benni McCarthy (groin) on the sidelines, while Aaron Mokoena is ill and Dubliner Keith Andrews is cup-tied.
