Inter issue legal threat
Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:05Internazionale have insisted Tuesday's meeting between president Massimo Moratti and coach Roberto Mancini was 'entirely professional' and have threatened legal action if reports continue to the contrary.
Reports in the media suggested there had been a breakdown in communication between the pair with Mancini's agent claiming afterwards he had left the club and would be replaced by Jose Mourinho.
The Italian champions have yet to officially comment on Mancini's reported departure from the San Siro but claimed on Thursday there had been some incorrect reporting on the situation and have threatened further action should it continue.
A statement on their official club website on Thursday read: 'In regard to certain reports released in the media containing the reconstruction of conversations held at the meeting last Tuesday between Massimo Moratti and the coach Roberto Mancini, FC Internazionale informs that:
'Whether written or reported, or only partially reproduced, these reports do not correspond to the truth of the facts. Furthermore the meeting was entirely professional and well mannered and the coach never showed any lack of respect to the president Massimo Moratti.
'Therefore, due to the damaging nature of some of the reports to the image of this club, the right to legal action is reserved against anyone who continues to report reconstructions of the conversation that do not correspond to the truth of the facts.'
