FAI and IFA set up discussion group

Following a meeting of the presidents and chief executives of the FAI and IFA in Zagreb, it has been agreed to set up a working group to expand on cooperation between the two associations.

The group will specifically consider issues such as further conferences, following the success of the joint coaching conference in Dundalk last weekend, the potential of improving the Setanta Sports Cup concept, player eligibility and the much talked-about All-Ireland League.

On the subject of the mooted league, it was jointly agreed that any competition which might be operated in future would only be run through, and by, the FAI and IFA.
