Wright waits on knee injury news

Everton goalkeeper Richard Wright will be left sweating over the next 24-hours as he waits to find out whether or not he will require surgery to correct a troublesome knee injury.

Wright aggravated his knee in the draw against Newcastle on Saturday and replaced by Nigel Martyn, and will see a specialist tomorrow. Everton manager David Moyes said: "He is going to see a specialist and at the moment he doesn't look too bad. We will know more later."

Meanwhile Moyes is expecting teenage striker Wayne Rooney to bit fit for next weekend's Premiership clash with Middlesbrough. Rooney was taken off against Newcastle after picking up a knock, however Moyes believes that he will be back in action next weekend.

The Everton boss said: "Wayne is okay. We don't think it is too serious and hopefully he will train in the middle of the week. It is a case of waiting and finding out."
