Harte hits brace as Leeds leave Sweden on a high

Two Ian Harte goals provided the platform for Leeds United's 4-0 victory over Gais as David O'Leary's men drew their pre-season tour of Sweden to a close. The Republic of Ireland full-back opened and closed the scoring with a penalty and one of his trademark free-kicks in the convincing win despite the absence of Lee Bowyer, Gary Kelly, Dominic Matteo and Danny Milosevic, who had picked up slight knocks picked up earlier on the tour.

Olivier Dacourt grabbed the second on the stroke of half-time with a spectacular free-kick and Mark Viduka added to his earlier goals in the tour with the third 10 minutes into the second half.

Meanwhile, the Irish deaf team have won the Bronze medal in the World Championships in Rome. They defeated Greece 3-0 in the 3rd/4th place play-off having lost to Germany in the semi final.
