Updated: Thursday, 19 Jan 2012 15:57
Shaun Murphy compiled two centuries on the way to overpowering fellow Englishman Martin Gould 6-2 to book a quarter-final spot at the BGC Masters.
Gould got off to a flyer with a century of his own in the opening frame, but Murphy stormed back to take the next four with four breaks over 50 including a 107.
Gould responded with a 79 before Murphy responded in style by taking the next two frames with breaks of 89 and 139 to set up a last-eight clash with either Mark Selby or Stephen Lee.
