Peter Ebdon battled through a bout of illness to edge an attritional encounter against Ali Carter 6-5 in the The Masters Snooker at Wembley on Sunday.
Both players set about a defensive effort and were neck and neck for the majority of the match until Ebdon took the decisive frame to keep his name in the hat.
A break of 88 by the winner was the highest of the match, with break-building at a premium.
