Doherty beats Selby in Glasgow

Ken Doherty knocked Mark Selby out in the big shock of the day at the Grand Prix in Glasgow.

Former world champion Doherty has dropped out of the world's top 16 and failed to qualify for this year's World Championship.

However, the 40-year-old Dubliner edged to a 5-3 victory over Selby in a scrappy match, winning one bizarre frame 86-85 and taking another following a re-rack after the players became bogged down in safety play.

Meanwhile, John Higgins beat Mark Joyce 5-1, Mark Davis beat Marco Fu 5-4 and Joe Perry beat Marcus Campbell 5-2.
