Doherty hammered by Murphy

Ken Doherty was easily beaten in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters this morning, going down 5-0 to Shaun Murphy.

The Dubliner never got going and presented several chances to the 2005 World champion, who Murphy happily accepted and he blew Doherty away with some confident potting.

Doherty, who turns 40 next week, never showed any of the form that got him to this stage and a break of 123 sealed Murphy's progress.
