Ken Doherty made another disappointing early exit

Dublin's Ken Doherty fell at the first hurdle as he lost his first round match to the 2006 world champion Graeme Dott at the Maplin UK Championship in Telford.

Despite clawing back from 5-0 down to 5-3, the 1997 world champion took just one frame in the evening session to eventually go down 9-4.

Defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan led Rory McCleod 6-0 before losing five straight frames to the qualifier before eventually going through 9-6 to face Joe Perry in the second round.
