Castres flanker Ibrahim Diarra could earn his second cap for France after replacing the injured Antoine Burban in the squad preparing to face Italy in the RBS 6 Nations on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Burban suffered a hamstring injury during his replacement appearance in France's 26-24 victory over England, and medical tests have now ruled him out of the second Championship game in Paris.

The French Rugby Federation announced coach Philippe Sant-Andre and assistants Yannick Bru and Patrice Lagisquet had on Monday turned to 30-year-old Diarra as their alternative option for a third-line spot.

Diarra made his France debut against Italy during the 2008 Six Nations tournament but has not been capped since.
