Ireland Under-20s came from behind to beat England 16-15 in dramatic fashion in Athlone tonight.

Rory Scholes touched down with a late try and Tom Daly converted under pressure to seal a memorable victory.

Henry Slade had England in control for most of the match, kicking five penalties in front of a large crowd at Dubarry Park.

The visitors also were without flanker Ross Moriarty after he was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Luke McGrath after 23 minutes.

Despite the setback, England looked on course for the win, leading 15-9 with only minutes remaining.

However, with Daly twice involved in the build up, Scholes went over close to the left corner to put the home side within one of the defending champions.

That left Daly with a pressure kick, but he held his head and split the posts before Ireland played out the final moments for a memorable win.
