France winger Alexis Palisson has returned to training with club side Brive and is set to re-join the French squad on Friday.
Palisson was the man on the receiving end of Jerry Flannery’s injudicious challenge, which has resulted in a six-week ban for the Ireland hooker, in Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations clash.
He departed the field after 23 minutes, clearly suffering from the after effects of a kick to the leg and was sidelined with a knee injury in the early part of the week.
The injury also meant he was not able to play much part in France’s Tour De Force, though he did manage one eye-catching run from his own 22 before being replaced by Julien Malzieu.
But he was retained in France’s 23-man squad to face Wales despite his injury and could yet be named in the 22-man match day squad next week.
