Declan Kidney was given plenty to ponder after the Ireland Select XV recorded a 38-3 win over Connacht in Donnybrook on Thursday evening.

Two converted tries from second rows Mick O’Driscoll and captain Leo Cullen gave the Irish selection a 14-3 lead at half-time, while Niall O’Connor’s penalty was Connacht’s only score.

Further tries after the break from Geordan Murphy, Fergus McFadden, Ian Keatley and Denis Hurley, along with two Paddy Wallace conversions, ensured a comfortable win for Kidney's men.
