Even with a 28-point win under their belt, man of the match CJ Stander felt that Munster weren’t at their best during their Pro12 victory over Zebre at Musgrave Park.

The table toppers fell behind to a Tomasso D'Apice try before Simon Zebo crossed twice to swing the game in the Irish side’s favour.

Ger Slattery (2) and Tommy O’Donnell added second-half tries to seal Munster’s 12th win of the competition.

Stander told RTÉ Sport: “It’s a good win but still I think we could have done better. We had good ball and we tried our moves and stuff, here and there, handling [let us down] and we had to start from scratch again.”

The 23-year-old South African, who signed a new two-year deal with Munster last month, added: “It’s go time now, I’m enjoying it now. It took me a while to get this [man of the match] ball again.

"It’s nice, I’m settled in now [with] the boys, we’ve all pulled in now to the Munster character and it’s going good now, it’s great to be in the squad.”
