Munster trip to Italy falls victim to snow

Munster's Rabodirect Pro12 clash with Aironi, which was due to take place this Sunday in Italy, has been postponed due to heavy snow falls.

The pitch at the Stadio Zaffanella in Viadana is still covered by the snow that fell during the last week.

The freezing temperature (remaining below 0°C with a low of -12°c during the night) has not allowed the snow to be cleared from the pitch.

The forecast for the upcoming week predicts further snowfalls during the next few days, and especially over the weekend.

The game will be played at a new date yet to be announced.
