Munster sign Crusader tighthead Borlase

Munster have signed prop Peter Borlase from Super 14 outfit Canterbury Crusaders.

The 25-year-old tighthead will join Munster on a two year contract once his involvement in the New Zealand National Provincial Championship has concluded.

Borlase, 6'3 and 18 stone according to official stats, has played for the Canterbury provincial side 20 times as well as lining out twice for the Crusaders in the Super 14. Usually a tighthead, he is also capable of packing down on the loosehead side.

Borlase' official Canterbury profile also mentions that he is a qualified builder and a 'massive' Liverpool FC fan.

The move is subject to normal release procedures from Canterbury and the New Zealand RFU being completed.
