Hayes to be heard on Tuesday
Updated: Tuesday, 06 Oct 2009 08:17
John Hayes will face an IRFU disciplinary panel on Tuesday, 4pm at Ravenhill following an alleged stamp on Cian Healy during Saturday night's Magners League meeting between Munster and Leinster.
Hayes was sent off in the 57th minute of Saturday's game and if found guilty of stamping could face a ban of four to eight weeks.
The investigating committee will try to decide if there was any sign of intent on Hayes' part or whether it was an accident.
Hayes’ blemish free disciplinary record up to this point in his career, one in which he has never before been sent off, should work in his favour.
The IRFU Panel will consist of Hugh Logan (Chairman) and will be assisted by Stephen Hilditch and Neil Jackson. The findings of the disciplinary panel will be released following the completion of the hearing.
