Leinster's Tom Denton banned for six weeks for dangerous tackle

Leinster lock forward Tom Denton has been banned for six weeks for a dangerous tackle against the Cardiff Blues at Cardiff Arms Park last week.
An independent RaboDirect PRO12 Disciplinary Committee upheld a citing for the tackle and said that aggravating factors, including the need for a deterrent for the type of offence and the player’s recent disciplinary record, meant a six-week ban rather than a four-week was necessary.
Denton is suspended from all rugby until midnight on Sunday 24 March, but he can appeal.
