Munster have announced a contract extension with former New Zealand All Blacks wing Doug Howlett, who has agreed fresh terms until the end of next season.

Howlett, who joined Munster midway through the 2007-08 campaign, has been a major part of the province's success, scoring 32 tries since his debut.

The New Zealander told munsterrugby.ie: "I'm obviously delighted to have agreed terms. My family and I are very happy here in Munster, it's home to us and we're very much looking forward to remaining here."
