Munster facing injury crisis

Munster coach Declan Kidney is facing an injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s Celtic League final against Leinster with several first team choices on the treatment bench. David Wallace, John Hayes and Rob Henderson have already been ruled out, but now Kidney has injury doubts over hooker Frank Sheahan and scrum-half Peter Stringer.

Sheahan picked up a groin injury in last Saturday’s 15-9 semi-final defeat of Ulster and is rated as doubtful, while Stringer, who played against Ulster, is still struggling with the ankle injury picked up in the quarter-final victory over Llanelli two weeks ago.

Elsewhere, winger John Kelly has received six stitches for a head wound while Dominic Crotty is suffering from cramp.
