An arrest warrant has been issued for Australia winger Digby Ioane according to News.com.au.

The Australian website reported that Ioane failed to appear at a Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon. The rugby star was due to face an assault charge relating to an incident which occurred at a hotel in Prahan in March.

Ioane was with the Australia squad at Carlton’s Visy Park around the time the charge came to court. It is believed the charge relates to a scuffle Ioane was involved in on 9 March.

The incident happened the day after Ioane played for the Queensland Reds in their victory over the Melbourne Rebels.

Ioane was later charged on summons by the police over the incident.

The winger was in the starting team that lost 23-21 to the Lions on Saturday.
