Paul Kimmage has resigned as ghost-writer for the upcoming Brian O’Driscoll autobiography, which is due for publication this Autumn.

Penguin Ireland has confirmed that former sports editor of the Sunday Times, Alan English will now take over the ghost-writing role.

O’Driscoll said: "I have enjoyed working with Paul over the last few years and it is unfortunate that we cannot complete this project together. However, I look forward to working with Alan."

English has  written three previous books on rugby, Stand Up and Fight: When Munster Beat the All-Blacks, Munster: Our Road to Glory and Grand Slam: How Ireland Achieved Rugby Greatness.

Currenltly working as editor of the Limerick Leader, English said: "I am delighted to work with Brian on his autobiography. It is a privilege to work with such a talented, professional Irish sportsman."
