Former Munster, Ireland and Lions player Colm Tucker has died aged 59.

Educated at St Munchin's College in Limerick and a Shannon clubman, he played on the Munster team that famously beat New Zealand at Thomond Park in 1978.

He was capped three times by Ireland during the 1979 and 1980 seasons and toured South Africa with the Lions in 1980, playing in two Tests.

His son, Colm junior, is coach of UL Bohemians.
