Keane funeral takes place in Portarlington

The funeral has taken place in Co Laois of the former Ireland international Moss Keane, who died on Tuesday.

Former international players, including Willie John McBride, Ollie Campbell, Tony Ward, Mick Galwey, Dick Spring, Donal Lenihan, Donal Spring and Ciaran Fitzgerald were in attendance.

The funeral took place at St Michael's Church in Portarlington.

In a eulogy, Keane’s brother Brian paid tribute to his outstanding achievements in Gaelic football and in rugby.

Daughter Sarah described her father as 'the humblest gorgeous soul', while Dr Martin McAleese, a former flat-mate of Keane, read a communion reflection.

Keane's coffin was adorned with the jerseys of Ireland, Munster, UCC, Kerry and Currow.
