Ireland Under-20s coach Mike Ruddock has been forced to replace injured captain Dan Leavy for the Friday's Six Nations clash against Italy as the flanker has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a shoulder injury.

Leavy is replaced by Buccaneers' Rory Moloney and Sean O'Brien takes over the captain's role. 

There are two changes on the bench with Stephen Gardiner replacing Joe Joyce and Frankie Taggart moving to the bench in place of Michael Trigg.  

Jack O'Donoghue has completed his return to play protocols and is declared fit to reclaim the no.8 jersey.
  
Ireland Under-20: David Busby; Cian Kelleher, Dan Goggin, Peter Robb, Adam Byrne; Ross Byrne, Nick McCarthy; Peter Dooley, Max Abbott, Rory Burke; Sean O’Brien, Ross Malony; Peadar Timmins, Rory Moloney, Jack O’Donoghue.

Replacements: Sean McNulty, Denis Coulsen, Oisin Heffernan, Stephen Gardiner, Frankie Taggart, Jack Cullen, Conor McKeon, Harrison Brewer.
