Felipe Contepomi proved the difference with 17 points as Argentina triumphed over Italy in their autumn Test match in Verona.

Contepomi kicked five penalties and also converted Martin Rodriguez's try as the Pumas came out on top in a close-fought contest.

Mirco Bergamasco kicked three penalties and also converted a penalty try but it was not quite enough for the home side.

The match had been level at 6-6 at half-time as Contepomi and Bergamasco traded kicks.

But the match burst into life in the second half as both sides scored a try, with the more accurate boot of Contepomi ultimately proving decisive.
