New Zealand coach Graham Henry has named regular captain Richie McCaw and star fly-half Dan Carter on the bench for Saturday's clash with Scotland at Murrayfield.
In an All Blacks XV skippered by hooker Keven Mealamu for the first time, Southland prop Jamie Mackintosh, Waikato number eight Liam Messam and Canterbury flanker Kieran Read all make their Test debuts.
Only three players remain from the side that defeated Australia 19-14 in Hong Kong on Saturday, including number 10 Stephen Donald who is retained despite being hauled off after 48 minutes of the Bledisloe Cup match.
'This is a strong team with a mix of experienced players and new faces and we have picked the best team to win this Test match,' said Henry.
'We will not be taking the Scottish team lightly. They will be playing with passion and determination in front of a vocal Murrayfield so we are expecting a physical encounter.'
