Peter O'Mahony has been ruled out of Munster’s return game with Scarlets on Sunday after sustaining a hairline crack to his jaw in the Parc Y Scarlets clash at the weekend.

The back row forward didn’t return for the second half, after being replaced by Denis Leamy, and an x-ray has showed damage that will keep him sidelined for two weeks.

Meanwhile, Keith Earls is expected to return to full training this week and could be included in the Munster squad for the weekend, while Peter Borlase (back), Dave O’Callaghan (knee) and Sean Scanlon (neck) all returned from injury in the British & Irish Cup win over Ayr.

Ivan Dineen (knee) also returns to training this week.
