Connacht’s Mike McCarthy has been cited for his dangerous tackle on Toulouse’s Vincent Clerc in Saturday’s Heineken Cup clash between the sides at the Sportsground, Galway.
The complaint was made by citing commisioner Bruce Reece-Russell of England.
McCarthy is alleged to have carried out a dangerous tackle on Clerc during the first half of the game at the Sportsground in contravention of Law 10.4 (e) for which he received a yellow card from English referee Greg Garner.
Steven Shingler's red card while playing for London Irish against Cardiff Blues on Friday will also be addressed.
Shingler was issued a red card for a dangerous tackle on Dafydd Hewitt in contravention of Law 10.4 (j), which pertains to spear tackles.
Roger Morris of Wales has been appointed as the independent judicial officer to hear both matters.
The hearings will take place at the ERC offices in Dublin on Wednesday 23 November 2011.
