The initial allocation of tickets for the Heineken Cup semi-final between Munster and Leinster at Croke Park on 2 May sold out in 30 minutes this evening.

5,000 tickets were snapped up on Ticketmaster in the immediate aftermath of the two provinces' quarter-final victories this afternoon.

A statement released by the ERC said each province have received about 30,000 tickets each for the game, which they are now distributing.

Munster enjoyed a 43-9 win over Welsh side the Ospreys at Thomond Park, while Leinster ensured an All-Irish semi-final when they emerged with a 6-5 over Harlequins following an epic encounter at The Stoop in London.

Interest in rugby is sky high at the moment following Ireland’s historic RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam triumph, and it is likely that the game at GAA Headquarters will sell out.
