Clontarf have been crowned Ulster Bank League champions for the first time in their history.

The northside club beat Ballynahinch 27-13 at Castle Avenue to leapfrog Old Belvedere who were top of the Division 1A table going into the final round of games.

But Old Belvedere failed to beat Garryowen in their final league encounter at Dooradoyle, going down 23-18 to the already-relegated Limerick side.
