Mitchell to miss final Tri-Nations game

Winger Drew Mitchell will miss Australia's final Tri-Nations match against New Zealand this weekend after sustaining a hamstring injury, local media reported on Wednesday.

Mitchell pulled his hamstring in the build-up to his second-half try in last weekend's last-gasp 41-39 win over South Africa in Bloemfontein.

The Wallabies would not call up a replacement for Mitchell with Peter Hynes fit and available for selection after missing the two-week tour of South Africa, the Australian Associated Press said.

Hynes will vie with New South Wales Waratahs winger Lachie Turner, Western Force's Nick Cummins and ACT Brumbies' Pat McCabe for Mitchell's place, while Cameron Shepherd could also be in contention as he recovers from a groin strain, the agency said.

The Wallabies name their team to play the All Blacks on Thursday.
