IRFU allows clubs to split November tickets

The IRFU has announced that it is to allow clubs to sell amended ticket packages for the Guinness Series of matches against South Africa, Samoa, New Zealand and Argentina in November.

The Union was criticised in some quarters over the price of the tickets for the four matches, which are all live on RTÉ television, at the new Aviva Stadium.

Under the original arrangments, supporters would have to pay €340 for a stand ticket to see all four games. Premium tickets are priced at €425 for all four games.

Under the new arrangement, clubs will have the option of breaking their allocation into two linked packages - South Africa/Samoa and New Zealand/Argentina.

The clubs will receive their usual quota of tickets for the matches as a single package but with the option of distributing in the split packages to individual members.

All Ireland international match tickets are distributed through provincial branches and clubs. Any tickets that are not sold will be made available first to the Irish Rugby Supporters Club and then to public sale.
