Wingers join Wallabies for SA clash

Wingers Drew Mitchell and Cameron Shepherd have been included in Australia's Tri Nations squad ahead of their opening match against South Africa next weekend.

Both players were left out of coach Robbie Deans' original 28-man squad, with Mitchell's exclusion unexpected after he had played in all four of the Wallabies' June Tests.

Deans had indicated when naming his original squad, however, that he would call up two extra players ahead of next Saturday's match at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The duo had already been training with the Wallabies squad last week and will now remain with the team.

Western Force winger Nick Cummins will also fly to Brisbane, although he remains outside the official squad, to replace the injured Peter Hynes.

The Wallabies' line-up for the Springboks clash will be announced on Tuesday.
