Schuster cited over Leamy incident

Perpignan prop Jerome Schuster has been cited for allegedly striking Munster forward Denis Leamy with his head during their Heineken Cup clash in France on Sunday.

Schuster, who was yellow carded early in the second half over the incident, will face a disciplinary hearing on January 13.

The citing specifically refers to Schuster 'striking with the head'.

If Schuster is found guilty, the shortest possible suspension is four weeks with 'top end' offences for striking getting 12 weeks or more, up to a maximum 104 weeks.

In the event Schuster is suspended, he would miss Perpignan's last two Heineken Cup Pool games against Northampton and Benetton Treviso.

Perpignan are out of the running in Pool One having already lost to Munster twice and Benetton Treviso.

However, they will face Northampton Saints at home in Round Five on Sunday, 17 January in a match which will have a bearing on whether or not Northampton will be in a position to catch Munster in the final round.
