Ireland 16-40 Lebanon

Twin brothers Reece and Travis Robinson scored 24 points between them as Lebanon beat a disappointing Ireland in the rugbyleague.com European Cup third-place play-off match in Maesteg.

The Cedars, who lost out to Ireland in qualifying for the 2008 World Cup, seized the initiative with the aid of three tries in the first 11 minutes through Adnan Saleh, Joshua Mansour and Travis Robinson

There was no way back for the Irish once Jamie Clark and Travis Robinson added further tries and, although centre James Haley pounced for two tries in six minutes, Reece Robinson's 80-metre interception try on the stroke of half-time snuffed out the fightback.

Daniel Chiha added a seventh try early in the second half and Reece Robinson took his goal tally to four before Ireland captain Bob Beswick scored a consolation try and Liam Finn kicked his second conversion.

Reece Robinson then capped a man-of-the-match performance by scooping up a loose ball near his own line and sprinting 90 metres for his second try.
