Report suggests Du Randt has retired

Os du Randt will not be a part of South Africa's squad for their end-of-year internationals against Wales and the Barbarians after it was stated that the veteran prop has retired.

Du Randt, 35, was a member of both the 1995 and 2007 World Cup-winning squads, but head of selectors for the Springboks, Peter Jooste, confirmed he will not be considered for the upcoming Tests.

'We've been told that Os has retired, and we will, therefore, look at other options,' Jooste said.

However, Jooste is hoping there will be few changes from the squad which triumphed against England in Paris two weeks ago.

'That will depend on the availability of our World Cup players,' Jooste added.

'I believe Gary Botha and Ashwin Willemse are not available. The balance of the side is of course paramount, and that will determine whether we select players who were not in action in France.

'When we sit down with (coach) Jake (White) next week, we'll decide how many players to take along. I assume it will be between 26 and 20.'

Botha (London Harlequins) and Willemse (Biarritz) have not been granted leave from their clubs for the Springbok tour.

South Africa face Wales on 24 November and the Barbarians at Twickenham on 1 December.
