Irish rowers through to semi-finals

Ireland's heavyweight four of Alan Martin, Sean Casey, Cormac Folan and Sean O'Neill are reached the semi-finals of the World Rowing Championships.

The quartet claimed a second place finish in this morning's repechage, ahead of Croatia but behind the eventual winners USA.

The result sees them in with a serious chance of qualifying for next year's Olympics as the top eleven of the twelve semi-finalists will be assured of a starting berth in Beijing next year.
