Last year's winner Monterosso is among 272 nominations for the Dubai World Cup on 30 March.
Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom, who caught the eye in the Breeders' Cup Mile, is the headline act among the American entries while Mike De Kock's Igugu has carried all before her in South Africa.
A total of 11 countries are represented among entries, including 11 from Japan.
Royal Delta and Little Mike may travel from America while there are five Irish entries, including Jim Bolger's Parish Hall.
Red Cadeaux, Grandeur and Dunaden appear while Aidan O'Brien's sole entry is Declaration Of War.
Among the Sheema Classic nominations are Cirrus Des Aigles and Brown Panther, while Penitent is in the Duty Free.
"In 2002 we had 87 horses nominated for the Dubai World Cup at the free nominations stage, this year we have 272," said Martin Talty, International Manager, Dubai Racing Club.
"The nominations shouldn't be used as an assessment of the quality of the ultimate field, but the large increases over the years do serve to demonstrate the status that this flagship race, and indeed all the races on the Dubai World Cup day, has attained all over the world.”
