Frankie Dettori is set to ride Cavalryman for Godolphin in the Emirates Melbourne Cup at Flemington on 6 November.

Dettori has yet to win 'the race that stops a nation', though he did finish second on Central Park in 1999.

Cavalryman has been in good form this year, winning Listed races at Sandown and York. He put up a creditable performance at Newmarket on Thursday when second in the Jockey Club Rose Bowl.  Lost In The Moment, who was just behind in third place, is also on course for the Australia showpiece, with Kerrin McEvoy her likely pilot.

Mickael Barzalona will be on Brigantin for Andrew Fabre.

It will be a first Melbourne Cup ride for the 21-year-old, who has already chalked up victories in the Investec Derby, the Dubai World Cup and the Ladbrokes St Leger.
