Aidan O'Brien provided the first European winner at the 2011 Breeders' Cup when Wrote took the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf in the hands of Ryan Moore.
Ridden behind the pace in the early stages, Moore switched his mount off the rails shortly after entering the homestraight, and the pair swept past the leaders to win going away.
Local hope Excaper filled the runner-up spot with Roger Varian's Farraaj back in third.
O'Brien said after the mile event: "We are delighted, as these races are very hard to win.
"Ryan gave him a super ride. We always liked him, but he got a bit unbalanced coming down the hill at Newmarket and after that he had a temperature, and had to have a break.
"Ryan thinks he will stay further so I imagine he could go for the Classics.
"He's been working very well, everyone was happy with him. It's great."
Moore said: "He got away well and the pace was quite strong. We got a lovely run through and when I switched him he gathered them up well. He's a nice type of horse.
"He had a very easy run round, the ground felt good - he moved well and quickened up very well.
"I'm sure he'll get further and would stay the Derby trip."
Part-owner Derrick Smith added: "It's great for the horse, great for Aidan and great for the jockey. It's just a wonderful experience."
Rider Neil Callan said of Farraaj: "Ultimately he galloped out well to the line after travelling well, but a horse leant on to me from my outer and he didn't do things as quickly as I thought he would at the end.
"I was very proud of his run."
Caspar Netscher was keen in the early stages for Kieren Fallon, who said: "He didn't go on it like he has gone on firm ground at home."
